What do we need?

• Winter Clothing - hats, gloves, mittens, coats, Socks, undies, t-shirts, bras

ALL SIZES NEEDED

• Newborn to adult (0-7X)

GIFTS FOR TEENS

• Any and all kinds of gifts for ages 11-18

CONSUMABLE GOODS

Soap, lotion, toothbrush/paste, toilet paper, razors/shaving cream, shampoo/conditioner, tissues

FOOD IS ESPECIALLY NEEDED

• CANNED fruit, meat, pasta, and vegetables, special diet items (low salt, low sugar)

• Peanut Butter

• Box mix meals or pasta

• Mac & Cheese

Items we will not be able to receive

used stuffed animals, tools, stationery, candles, strollers, car seats

• In selecting your items for the Christmas Store, please be aware that we cannot accept summer clothing and shoes, no household items, especially furniture and appliances.

The Montgomery County Christmas Store is a 501 (c)(3) charity organization registered with the Federal and State Governments. All donations are tax deductible.  Receipts (for IRS purposes) related to goods donated are available at donation sites.

Beginning Feb. 1, 2026, the Books Area of the Montgomery County Christmas Store will once again begin accepting donations of new and gently used books.  Because the store is currently closed, donors are asked to contact Beth, the Books Area coordinator, at bwaggens@icloud.com to arrange to meet at the MCCS for donation dropoff.  

 

 

        We accept NEW and VERY GENTLY USED books in very good condition, since they will be Christmas presents. HERE ARE OUR GREATEST BOOK NEEDS.

 

         Children:  board and read-aloud books; beginning readers, chapter books; activity books (coloring, seek and find, dot-to-dot, word search puzzles),  alphabet books, drawing/art/craft books, etc.

 

          Pre-teen and young adult:  graphic novels, YA fiction, YA non-fiction focusing on personal growth

 

         Adult fiction: all types but especially historical fiction, science fiction, fantasy, and horror;  Christian fiction; Amish romance; True Crime; 

 

         Adult non-fiction:  true crime; biographies; history; sports; health and personal growth; parenting;  crafts/sewing; carpentry/DIY; outdoor activities (hunting, camping, fishing),  humor

 

            Local authors/local interest 

         

         Spanish/bilingual books: adult and children fiction and nonfiction

 

         Neurodivergent/special needs books: child-focused and also parenting

 

         Christmas books: adult and children of all ages

 

Used books should not have names written on outside covers or inside, nor should they be stamped "withdrawn from XXX library". Please remember that the books are given by our shoppers are Christmas presents, so we want them to be as clean and gently used as can be!  We do not accept magazines, Readers Digests, textbooks, or newspapers.  

 

We are grateful for your wonderful donations, which help us to give more families books under their Christmas tree!
