• Winter Clothing - hats, gloves, mittens, coats, Socks, undies, T-shirts, bras, junior sports bras (XS-XXL), Girls 8-18 Sports Bras

ALL SIZES NEEDED

• Newborn to adult (0-7X)

GIFTS FOR TEENS

• Any and all kinds of gifts for ages 11-18

• Full-size basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, and volleyballs

Classic Board Games

CONSUMABLE GOODS

Soap, lotion, toothbrush/paste, toilet paper, razors/shaving cream, shampoo/conditioner, tissues

BOOKS

The Books Area of the Montgomery County Christmas Store is accepting donations of new and gently used books. Because the store is currently closed, donors are asked to contact Beth, the Books Area coordinator, at bwaggens@icloud.com to arrange to meet at the MCCS for larger donation dropoff.  If you have a bag of books, there is a red collection bin on the loading dock for your use. 

FOOD IS ESPECIALLY NEEDED

• CANNED fruit, meat, pasta, and vegetables; special diet items (low salt, low sugar)

• Peanut Butter

• Boxed meal mixes or pasta

• Mac & Cheese

Items we will not be able to receive

used stuffed animals, tools, stationery, candles, strollers, car seats

• In selecting your items for the Christmas Store, please be aware that we cannot accept summer clothing and shoes, no household items, especially furniture and appliances.

The Montgomery County Christmas Store is a 501 (c)(3) charity organization registered with the Federal and State Governments. All donations are tax deductible.  Receipts (for IRS purposes) related to goods donated are available at donation sites.

The Books Area of the Montgomery County Christmas Store is accepting donations of new and gently used books. Because the store is currently closed, donors are asked to contact Beth, the Books Area coordinator, at bwaggens@icloud.com to arrange to meet at the MCCS for larger donation dropoff.  If you have a bag of books, there is a red collection bin on the loading dock for your use. 

We accept NEW and VERY GENTLY USED books in very good condition, since they will be Christmas presents. 

HERE ARE OUR GREATEST BOOK NEEDS.

 CHILDREN:  board and read-aloud books; beginning readers, chapter books; activity books (coloring, seek and find, dot-to-dot, word search puzzles), alphabet books, drawing/art/craft books.

 PRE-TEEN AND YOUNG ADULT: graphic novels, YA fiction, YA non-fiction focusing on personal growth

 ADULT FICTION: literary and historical fiction; mystery/detective/crime fiction; action/adventure fiction; science fiction, fantasy, and horror;  romance (particularly inspirational or Christian fiction/Amish romance). 

ADULT NONFICTION: true crime; biographies; history; sports; health and personal growth; parenting; crafts; outdoor activities; humor.

CHRISTMAS:  adult and children of all ages

SPECIALTY AREAS:  

Local authors/local interest 

         Spanish/bilingual: adult and children fiction and nonfiction

Neurodivergent/special needs books: For those with OCD, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia, as well as autistic needs. Examples include sign language, social/physical disability, simple visuals, touch/feel sensory involvement, feelings, celebrate different ways of thinking and learning.

Religion: devotionals, faith-based living, adult fiction, child-focused fiction

 FINAL THOUGHTS

1. Used books should not have writing or stamps on outside covers or inside.  Please remember that the books are given by our shoppers as Christmas presents, so we want them to be as clean and gently used as can be!

2. We cannot accept withdrawn library books, magazines, Readers Digests, textbooks, or newspapers.  

2. If you belong to a group, club, office, or business and want to do a book drive, please contact Beth (bwaggens@icloud.com) to discuss a specific focus you might want to target. Thanks!
