Getting Connected With the Books Department 2025

If you have new or very gently used books to donate, please contact Beth at bwaggens@icloud.com to arrange for either a meet-up at the Montgomery County Christmas Store OR for a potential pick up.

There is also a red donation bin outside the MCCS near the loading dock for your drop-offs.

If you are part of an organization/group that would like to organize a book drive, please contact Beth (bwaggens@icloud.com) for ideas on targeting specific kinds of books that are especially needed.

We in the Books Area are so grateful for your donations. Last year you helped us to increase the number and types of books we could offer families. The heartwarming community outreach is very much appreciated!

Please read about this years donation needs on our Items Needed page

New 2025 donation needs

  1. In Books, we go through hundreds of bags during shopping week, and we’ve discovered that two types work the best. If you have these, we’d be glad to take them as donations!

These include cloth/canvas/thick shopping bags with handles, and the heavy white Kroger bags used for pickup orders.

  2. We would love to offer your leftover (not used) Christmas cards with envelopes, stationery, and bookmarks (great kids activity to make!).

TO DONATE: Drop your books off at the red donation box on 1st St., Christiansburg at the rear of the MCCS.

If you have larger amounts (several bags or boxes of books), please get in touch with Beth at bwaggens@icloud.com to arrange for a meet-up at the MCCS or a potential pick-up.
